More powerful organisation of your own playlists
For someone like me, i have one big playlist with my favourite songs of all time (its currently contains around 250 songs!) I like to play this at work with the 'shuffle' button activated so that throughout the day, a random song will play.
But having a large playlist like this creates a huge headache when trying to organise it. Ideally, i'd love to be able to sort it alphabetically, just like it would do on my iphone, but we7 sorts it by the date the song was added to the playlist.
The only organise tool we currenly have is… more

We’ve started trying to make playlist organisation easier. The playlist editing feature now features drag-and-drop reordering. It’s slow for very large playlists, but it’s better than “clicking the UP button 246 times”. Thoughts?

identify albums that are 'preview only'
I'd rather not have to click an album to discover that it's preview only.
Some method of indicating such albums would be appreciated.219 votesplanned ·

We do mark albums as preview only wherever we can. For example, take a look at this album from within the UK: http://www.we7.com/#/album/Take-This-To-Your-Grave!albumId=183035
However, if you’re viewing the homepage from another country, you’ll see preview only content that’s not identified as such. So we’re starting to design an international homepage that will only contain things you can play in full.

Have a way of importing playlists from spotify.
I am trying to move to we7 from Spotify but have a day long playlist there that I don't want lost. You should have a way of transferring it. Maybe using the HTTP link. :D

Add a button which alows the currently playing song to be deleted from the current playlist.
Add a button which allows the currently playing song to be deleted from the current playlist. This makes it easy to add many unknown songs to the playlist and then eliminate unwanted ones as they play.

We agree, this would be a very cool feature. We’re just not sure where that button would go. Our player and queue are getting rather full.
We are hoping that in the future, we can improve discovery-based features such as we7 Radio. That way, you might be more satisfied with listening to many unknown songs and adding the ones you like rather than adding and later deleting the ones you don’t like.

Unsigned Band Tab / Section
I think you should have a new tab that features all of the unsigned artists in the same way you feature the main artists.
The Unsigned area will make it easier to search for unsigned artists by location (so you can find bands close to you), genre, popularity etc
You could also do feature slots where you interview some unsigned bands and feature their music on the main page that week etc, it will be a really nice feature as it will give the band a chance for some exposure they normally wouldn't get.
Supporting unsigned bands is vital to… more

We’ve been featuring unsigned artists on the “we7 Presents” tab on our home page. Unfortunately, we feature very few artists this way, and what you want is more of a local band finder.
We used to have a system for reviewing new music to check whether it was suitable for the site. (Anyone remember we7 Tastemakers?) The we7 team is too small to review the flood of new music that came in, so we asked our users to help. Unfortunately, we had far more music to be reviewed than we had users to review it.
We’re constantly trying to think of a solution for this because we like local bands too. If you have ideas, please let us know.

Add a We7 app to the Windows Phone 7 Marketplace.
Support for Android and iOS is great and covers most people, but it does seem that WP7 is gaining some momentum. Do you have any plans to support that platform?

Thanks for the feedback everyone. Symbian is on our current list of desired platforms but it comes after windows 7 and blackberry. That means it won’t happen this year as we don’t have enough resources to do them all at once.

Start loading songs in the play queue when the current song has finished loading
When the current song has finished loading the other songs in the play list should begin loading. I sometimes use a lot of bandwidth at once so I give we7 some time to get ahead with loading the song. BUT it would be nice to be able to load the entire queue so I can listen to it without pausing every so often.

Enable scrobble support for the iPhone app
Like the we7 website service that uses the last.fm account name of the member to contact last.fm and report/scrobble what the user has listened to.

Distinguish between Albums and Singles/EPs, and prioritise new releases
When I click on the Album tab for an artist, it is frustrating trying to work out which of the "albums" shown is actually an album, and which are singles or EPs. For an artist with a new album and several previous releases, often the albums displayed immediately are the older albums - it is only possible to find that they have a new album by searching further. The newest release should appear first.

there should be a way of paying for songs through a mobile phone.
i think there should be a way of paying for songs with out using a credit card. some people might not have a credit card ( ages 10 -17 +) which means they can not buy a song, which is pointless.

offer the option of paying for an day
I think it would be worthwile offering the option of paying a small fee for an ad free day. This would give occasional users of the site (who are not ready to join one of your planned monthly subscriptions) a way to received ad free days and earn you some revenue at the same time too.

Option to download ALL purchased songs
On your "Purchased Songs" page, you should have an option to download all purchased songs. I have bought well over 50 and it would take me hours to download each one individually.
PLEASE DO THIS!! :)

Team up with retailers for CD sales from which we7 can earn commision.
The price of downloading a whole album is often much greater than buying the CD (from which users can rip the content to their music players if so inclined) so why not team up with some retailers (play.com, wowcd, etc) and earn money through commision / affiliate schemes.
